Do you think heirlooms should remain as they are or be repaired for modern use?

The answer depends on your plans: repair to wear or do not repair as a keepsake. My father gave my mother a new wedding band for their 25th wedding anniversary. It had two rows of small diamonds. Just before my mother passed, she had a jewler put one row of the diamonds on a ring for me and one row for my sister. I wear it daily with much love in remberance of both my parents. My sisters ring was damaged and she didn't wear it for a long while. She missed wearing it so much, she did have it repaired and now wears it daily with love. She is so glad she chose repair.
