Of course it's easy to say something trite like, "There is no price one can place on integrity," but when you're starving that seems to be a heartless response. It is necessary to hold the line though, or in the end, not only will you be hurt, but so will the people you hope to benefit. For standing your ground though, that I commend you for. You did what you had to do and that's what honor is all about.
