It is too late right. So many have gone in spite of mass objection. It is silly to demolish the real thing to create a fake one to replace it. Chinatown is a very good example.
The old National Library should not have been demolished at all. The National Theater is another one. Did you know that they build a stupid replica just opp. the old location. How stupid can that be!
