@Torque Effect: My answer for choosing Applejack is because unlike her Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash doesn't have as much hinted potential when it comes to patents. The two Pegasi of the mane six are my close seconds though, but I feel an episode with them would be more like the three we have seen the parents of. Applejack has a strongly hinted backstory with hers, I believe if people feels the way I do they too are curious to know the backstory of Applejack and her parents.

Rarity's parents would be hilarious. They're clearly regular midwestern-type ponies, but Rarity tries so hard to be a sophisticate. Their relationship must be very funny.

It's just like one of the producers' comment on Scootaloo's parents never being shown, "Just because they haven't appeared in the show, does not mean they're not there or dead." Applejack, Big Mac and Apple Bloom could just be living with Granny Smith because their mom and dad are away living elsewhere or other reasons, don't go just assuming they're dead and gone, people.

We've seen Rarities parents, Twilight's parents, Rainbow Dash's father, and Applejack's parents are dead and I thought that episode about them was a nice closure on the subject. Fluttershy though, we know absolutely nothing about her family. I'd also like to see a Scootaloo option on that poll.
Spike's parents, that would be a bit weird. Did they give his egg up for adoption or was it just taken from them?

This is a hard choice, but I'd like to see parents of any pony we haven't seen parents of meaning Fluttershy, Applejack and Rainbow Dash. I honestly don't know which of them to vote, I think I'll save the vote for a little longer.

Fluttershy - her origin is still a complete mystery, and it would be very interesting to finally see what kind of family did she come from. Seeing Dash's parents would be fun too (and Scootaloo's actually). What about Applejack - it is interesting of course, but she already has more relatives than other Mane6 altogether, and there has been many episodes about different members of Apple family. So, I'd prefer to see pegasi parents episode. Seriosuly, pegasi families have been almost completely ignored for 4 seasons, they deserve some highlight too.

Well, Applejack. It was way too easy... Reasons are rather obvious. The episode about them has a chance to be really interesting and touching. Besides, it's important to talk with kids about death, because it's part of life. We can't protect them from things like that, so why not help them to understand what it is and how to deal with it.
And I couldn't care less about Fluttershy's parents. In my opinion, pegasi are like birds, who often leave their kids, when they're old enough to take care of themselves. It's a headcanon of course, but as long as it wasn't stated in one of the episodes, it's as good as any other.

Spike's actually a canon "orphan." At least as far as the species with eggs are concerned.
Besides, we've already gotten an episode where he deals with it, even if it wasn't the best execution around.
Sadly, there's no way we're going to see Spike's parents. There are only three options:
1) Spike's egg was stolen by ponies. This is ironically the best possible option, since it means his parents are alive and (presumably) want to see him.
2) Spike's egg was abandoned/sold by his parents.
3) Spike's parent's are dead.
There's no way Hasbro is going to run with any of those - they won't even acknowledge AJ's parents.

I have to say I'm voting for Rainbow Dash for once. I'm rather intrigued to find what kind of home life would cause that personality to exist. I couldn't be less interested in the parents of most of the rest of the cast to be honest.

Honestly, I'd like to see ANY family for Fluttershy. Besides Spike, who I quite dislike in general, she's the only main character on the show with no family shown as of yet. For all we know she could have just popped up in Equestria at some point for no rhyme or reason. While many think that Aj's parents would be fun to see, I quite do not care if they are dead or not. We've seen so many members of her family, I just genuinely cannot give less of a shit about more of the Apple family. Other than Flutters, maybe Rainbow Dash's family would be cool to see. We've only seen her Dad (or brother?) I'd like to see WHY they are the only ponies in Equestria with a full rainbow mane and tail, it just seems so weird to me. Twilight's parents in 3rd for me. We've seen them but we don't know a thing about them other than that they are supportive and have raised 2 of the most successful ponies in all of Equestria. Pinkie Pie and Rarity's parents we have also seen, but I find them bland and boring, so I don't really want to see more of them.

now i must say, i truly would love to have an episode about twilights parents, theres just something about them i find so appealing, even more so with this dynamic of both children becoming royalty. it would be great to see an episode about them.

Applejack’s, because they’re pretty much the only one who could have a meaningful episode. An episode about AJ’s parents could help the kids who lost one (or both) of their parents.
An episode about Spike’s parents would be about adoption, but that would be kind of a Dragon Quest duplicate…
An episode about Rainbow Dash’s parents may be interesting if it turns out that they are separated (who knows?).
We don’t know anything about Fluttershy’s family yet, so there’s room for an episode about it!
But I can’t see what they could write about Pinkie’s, Rarity’s or Twilight’s parents, knowing they’re all known and alive… Maybe Sweetie Belle having trouble with her parents, since she seems to still live with them?

Bestpone's parents deserve to be recognized. They raised bestpone after all, they must have been incredible individuals themselves.
