Me personally I see "derpy" as the fandom version of that pony. The pony on the show to me is another pony without a name. Derpy I hope remains out of the show but the one on the show I hope remains in the background. When she first appeared I enjoyed the name Ditzy Doo way better than Derpy. The name Ditzy is way way cuter than Derpy.

Things like Last Roundup and Rainbow Falls aside, I've always considered Derpy as potentially one of the great silent comic characters. Having a character exist for the sake of physical humor is a huge plus for MLP, and I'd like them to continue utilizing her that way. It doesn't have to be every episode, of course, but that's what I believe her strength is.
I'd miss her too much if she only existed from here on in Where's Waldo shots (though I'd love to keep getting those), yet prominent placement in episodes like the ones I mentioned before should be rare events lest DHX risk overexposing her. Forcing her into the activities of the Mane 6 would put her in that danger. The perfect balance for Derpy is right in the middle, still in the focus on occasion living her life but only for the purpose of silent slapstick. I'm glad they mentioned her Luna Eclipsed appearance, because that's exactly what I'm talking about.

We've had a ton of drama about the neigh sayers and SJW's trying to get her removed completely for unjustified reasons, keeping her in but keeping her in the background is perfectly okay for me. There's fan comics, audio dramas and fan fictions for central focus that I can enjoy, I don't need her being a central focus for an episode, that and I don't think I could take a Derpy without Jitters voice anymore.

As much as I love Derpy as a character, I strongly believe she don't need her own episode, let alone become a freaking princess. She can interact with the Mane 6 on occasion, but I rather much prefer it if she was in the background with her own scene every once in a while. I mean if Hasbro was going to do an episode for her, then damn it they need to do the other popular ponies of the fandom like Vinyl Scratch, Octavia, Lyra, etc. But I digress, in short let's just have Derpy stay in the background and be a background character, nothing more.

I like her being featured, but not prominently - I was seeing almost too much of her in Rainbow falls and the rest of season 4 afterward. Voiceless Derpy is Best Derpy.
I do want her to get her closeup once more, at the end of the very last episode of the current series, where she will break her silence and address the audience directly with a heartfelt, 'Goodbye, kids' like Clarabelle the clown did on the very last episode of Howdy Doody.

I really liked the way the team Derpy's second foray into the forefront. Silent, yet having a point to the scene. Showing average intellegence and a good amount of emotional intellegence. Did I mention she didn't talk? I think a canon mute Derpy would be nice. :)

"it can't and won't happen" THAT is a lie. Anything can happen on this show. Anything. There are very few limits. The writers can do almost anything that they please, and frankly, Hasbro has shown they'd love to add more princesses to sell, and Derpy is being sold a lot lately as it is. They most certainly can give her a voice again too, otherwise when the Last Roundup got censored, they'd just mute her or take her scene out in general, but instead, they simply changed her voice to make it sound less "offensive".
I personally would hate it if Derpy became anything more than a background pony on this show too, but other people have opinions too, so let them have their own, just like how you have yours and I have mine. Thanks.

Second, she's a BACKGROUND CHARACTER. She is supposed to be treated like one! Whether you think she should be a princess, it will not happen. It can't and won't. Also, I think I recall something about a staff member saying they are only going to have episodes about the main characters. How would she even become a princess? How can they even manage to make an episode about her and include some main characters in the episode as well? It's just too much to think about. She can have those small scenes they give her, but giving her an entire episode is pushing it. And that "Princess Derpy" option is a joke, and I fail to see why you're taking it so seriously.

Seth really doesn't know how to make polls anymore, he should have a "non/all of the above" option in there. I think that all are viable depending on what the episode calls for (with the exception of the princess option). Option A and B would be good for an average slice-of-life episode while option C would be good for an episode that requires a random incidental character to interact with the Mane 6 for exposition or even just for a gag, in that case why not insert Derpy? As for option D, arguably the most controvercial option, it could work in an episode akin to The Simpsons episode '22 Short Films About Springfield' where we could follow the daily (and often eccentric) lives of Ponyvilles residents. Derpy could be the major plot point! As for the vote, i just voted for option B. Had the option been there it'd certainly be all of the above.

Almost all of the above as long as it is not forced - just let Derpy do what Derpy does. If that happens to be being hidden in a crowd, fine. If that happens to be actively doing something very visibly behind main characters, fine. If the scene calls for interaction such as dropping an anvil or piano on Twilight, also fine.
I think staying in the background and occasionally having her own scene (like Luna Eclipsed) is the perfect spot for her. She should be there, but not constantly shoved down people's throats. I love me some Derpy, but let's not get too much of a good thing.

She doesn't need her own episode! She doesn't need to be a princess (ridiculous Derpy worshippers. IT WON'T HAPPEN, THAT SHOULDN'T EVEN BE AN OPTION) She doesn't need to interact with the Mane 6! Heck, she doesn't even need her own SCENE!!!!! She needs to be in the freaking background for god's sake like she is supposed to be as an Easter egg. I really don't see what's so special about background characters. Same with Luna, she's overrated and I don't care for her. If that "entire episode" thing wins, I... just... no.

In the background as an easter egg, those are more fun with her. I do enjoy other scenes, but they either just don't feel the same or gets in the way as it gets overhyped. Never understood it. I like the Where's Waldo kind of Derpy because it give us more to do within an episode than just generally watch it.

No more pandas pls. I'd just like her to be an easter egg in the background, like the Slendermane and the twins from that one game. THOSE are fun without getting in the way. Ones like Applebloom going with that rap, etc. are just annoying, especially when done as often as they were in Season 5.
I like the little fandom shout outs, don't get me wrong, just not when they're in my face every to every other episode. Keep it simple, fun, and occasional, writers.
