How often do you use sunscreen?

I only use sunscreen if I am going to be out for several hours in strong sunshine, in reflective conditions such as on the water or beach, and without shade as well as my broad-brimmed hat. I always wear a wide sunhat, a loose long-sleeved cotton shirt, and long pants when I am out, other than when swimming. The water is too cold here to swim for more than half an hour.

I believe I do better than if I were to slather sunscreen on every day. Had a melanoma removed from my arm about 33 years ago and have had nothing suspicious recur. I use Equadorian black salve on any unusual skin oddities that worry me; it has been more effective than having things "burned" off.
