If the new Siloam picture was taken at Christmas why are there no holiday decorations? Seems odd for a town in the running for Best Main Street.

Siloam Springs is a beautiful place, but what makes it the best can't be shown in one picture. The people of Siloam are the friendliest, most caring, most welcoming, best at volunteering their time and resources to help anyone in need, or to pull together to build a beautiful park, and did I mention Siloam came in first last week in the safest place to live in Arkansas?

Holland's picture just doesn't do it justice! The Tulip Time festival draws people from around the world, especially to see the dancers:

Thousands of people march in the parades, too! It's a beautiful community to live in.

The annual Tulip Time Parades and Dutch Dancers happen on Holland's main street every year in May. The Dutch Dancers are amazing---hundreds of high school girls in authentically sewn costumes of various provinces in The Netherlands don about 9 pairs of socks and wooden shoes and dance down the main street. Too bad a picture of that was not used.

Heated streets sound amazin and I'd love to visit there someday, but my heart is in Siloam Springs!

  • Jan - 10 years ago

Yes, what is up with changing the picture? That picture doesn't even look real!

  • Karen - 10 years ago

There's no contest at all it's Siloam Springs- and it looks just like the picture.

I love seeing all these great vibrant downtowns! I'm going to visit every one of them! In the meantime, I am so happy that I get to live and work in beautiful downtown Siloam. The great shot from friends Matt & Meghan is the view on my walk to work every day.

What's with the Siloam picture? It looks like a virtual image, not a photo.

  • Larry - 10 years ago

Best Main Street you will ever see!! Also has snow melt!! Holland will win!!!

  • Matt - 10 years ago

Love 28 Springs ^_^ my boyfriend and I go there when I'm in town. Great little square with good people.

  • Jon - 10 years ago

I've been to both and can't believe Holland is losing. This should be a no-brainer!

Lisa Cordero... do you know how percentages work?

  • Dean - 10 years ago

I lived in Siloam for 15 years and miss that place. Wonderful people and a beautiful downtown.

  • Friend of Siloam - 10 years ago

Been to both places! Camped in Holland and lived in Siloam. Beautiful experience in each location. Edge goes to Arkansas!

  • Lisa Cordero - 10 years ago

How does the percentage go backward? Holland had over 48% and now it's down to 47%. Something isn't working correctly, just sayin'

I founded this town to be the best. #siloamsgotit … always has always will ;-)

  • Rodney Jackson - 10 years ago

Siloam is a great place to live because it has great people!! It is also a beautiful city!

  • Siloamer - 10 years ago

Siloam Springs has the best wood fired pizza and gelato anywhere! Love Fratelli's!

  • Aly - 10 years ago

I push Siloam and it checked the other box. Unfair.

  • meghan - 10 years ago

Thanks Rose, we love this photo, too. It definitely captures the essence and vibrancy of our town ;)

  • Siloam Springs Resident - 10 years ago

This is not enhanced. This was taken right at Christmas time last year. The other photo didn't do our Main Street justice!

  • Rose - 10 years ago

I'm referring to the Siloam Springs picture.

  • Rose - 10 years ago

Since when can you change your picture in the middle of a contest? Besides, the picture looks enhanced: the light is too bright! Like a Thomas Kincade painting.
