Do you support a policy of temporarily seizing guns from people the police deem to be of danger to themselves or others?

The point I was going to make was the same as a couple that were posted above. "Kate" made the point perfectly. If someone is a threat, remove THEM from society for how ever long is necessary. The PERSON is the threat, not the gun, knife, car, etc.

The person is the threat, not the gun. If more people could see that, there wouldn't be as many problems with weapons

Who gets to decide who is determine whether they will be a harm to themselves or others?
I can see this in a suicide situation where they take the gun away and put them in a mental evaluation setting but sizing guns because someone, law enforcement or others, deems them a threat is not right.
I'm for them seizing the person who is deemed the danger, not the guns!
Let's face it, the threat of danger could come in the form of a knife, baseball bat or even their fist!

Seize the person, not the object!

This is just the start of Gun Control. If they deem them harmful or misfit, then they should be arrested or put under evaluation. Who decides who is unsafe and who isnt. They gonna keep knives, clubs, chains and any other weapons out of their hands. Come on people stand up for our constitutional rights.

The problem with this is, how will the police deem this person is threat to himself or others? Will they actually investigate this person? or will they go raid his house on a phone call from a neighbor?
