I have a problem with buying dogs and cats from them yes, but I also have a problem with people breeding mutts and calling them designer dogs and charging a lot of money for them. But yet people still buy them

I would never purchase a pet from a store - it doesn't matter how good the conditions may be - it is not a good environment. The Dobermans I purchased over a 30+ year period were from established, reputable breeders. And hopefully they would turn out to be show quality (one did). The mixed breed I have now had for six years is from the Animal Shelter. I would advise anyone wanting a dog or cat or any animal to visit the shelters & adopt unless they plan to show a dog. Then do your homework & go to a reputable breeder.

Gordon Grainger doesn't say anything in his article about where these animals come from, does that mean he supports puppy mills? Most pet stores will lie to you if you ask if an animal comes from a puppy mill.

If you've ever seen a puppy mill it would break your heart. Buying from a pet store keeps these puppy mills going. It is one of the cruelest things you can do to an animal.
I don't think puppies should be purchased. They should be adopted! If they are purchased, they should definitely NOT be from Jack's.

The next time you see that adorable puppy in the window, pause and think about the downsides of pet store pups. Buying from such a store is, in essence, supporting them and the horrible practice of puppy mills.

The only places to adopt a pet from are rescue sites and animal shelters.
Never BUY a pet, you are only supporting puppy mills by encouraging them to breed more unneeded pets, while those in shelters are killed because of overcrowding.
One way to help the over breeding in Great Falls is to have the cat Neuter, Spay clinics earlier in the spring and summer. Currently they are held AFTER the spring and fall kittens are born.
