Do you support using state education dollars to pay the cost of recruiting industry into Alabama?

Alabama schools, students, teachers, retirees and support personnel have suffered long enough! The governor needs to be looking for means to restore education dollars rather than take them away. If I remember correctly, he was elected by a great number of educators who supported him. He personally told me, " I will not cut the education budget or do anything to hurt education or educators." Has he lived up to this? Check the records, you'll see. If you are involved in the education community, you'll know. He has continuously harmed us in almost all ways feasible. I'm glad he can't run for a third term!

The only industries Governor Bentley attracts are ones that pay slave wages and have to pay no taxes for many years. If he were really interested in stimulating the economy he would have accepted the Medicaid expansion, but he chose spite and political posturing instead.

Legalizing marijuana would be another great way to fund education. Marijuana has been scientifically proven to cure and prevent cancer, among a host of other therapeutic applications. It is less harmful than sugar and less addictive than coffee.

The governor needs to leave the education alone. The teachers and students have already suffered enough and the state of Alabama is losing good teachers right and left because of low salaries and
terrible benefits. Enough is enough and the money needs to come from somewhere besides education.

Typical politition. If they smell a dollar, any money at all they have got to spend it on some scheme they have cooked up in their mind that " good for us".

Need lottery. All states around backwards Alabama have them and all the Alabama money goes to those states education funds and job incentive funds. We are as backwards as a state can be. I was not born in Alabama but have lived here for 44 years and I swear I am embarrassed to tell folks from other states where I live.

Every area of funding for education has been cut due to the economy and redirecting funds set aside for education. Teachers have had to use their own money to buy classroom and library supplies or do without. In addition, teachers have to pay more for their retirement and health insurance with reduced coverage. Education and teachers are the most important asset in society and business. Do all you can to protect and rstore education funding.

How much more damage can be done to our public schools by this man? I think he has deep psychological issues against public schools. Neither the governor nor the legislators who follow him blindly could last a week in the classroom.

They have already raided the education trust fund once. Now the Guv'nuh wants to do it again? How about he puts back the $400 million plus first, then we can discuss it.

Our K-12 libraries have had $0, in state library money for over 5 years. I am all for new industry and more jobs, but SOME areas of our school are lacking in funds to provide students the things they need in the libraries across the state. You can have only so many book fairs.

That money has been set aside for a very specific purpose. No one has any right, for any reason, to do otherwise. Plain and simple!
