Dr Alaa Murabit should be on this list, quite surprised she isn't. Truly inspirational woman.

I actually remember when Jacqueline Gomes-Neves came onto my radar. She had just been elected as the first female Lambeth Youth Mayor at age 17, and since then, although we've only met in person once -and she was quite shy, I have come to know of her amazing commitment and work ethic through mutual friends and like-minded orgs throughout Lambeth. I follow her on social media and am inspired and encouraged by the work she does. In a time of easy social-media bombardment from all things negative, Jacqueline's posts are always reflective of the often unseen little pockets of hope springing up throughout the borough in the most unsuspecting of places.

From seeing her teaming with Brixton Soup Kitchen to feed the homeless, to her voicing out over the much needed funding cuts to youth services, she is a model example of how to use her post wisely and hence the reason I voted for her as a young woman of colour in the UK that I feel has made an impact in her field and has inspired me. With more support and recognition, there are literally no limits to the reservoir of positive hope than she may nourish our youth from.
