  • The Fact is hurting - 10 years ago

The true fact on the part of the Indian officials of not supporting Sarita Devi is the very truth behind all sports in India where these so called High profile officials themselves practice such judgements in the Indian National and domestic levels. So how will they have any feelings for Sarita Devi and support her cause. They themselves have done this to other potential medallist who could have represented the country as well. If they did not support Sarita Devi reveals that these Indian officials support the injustice which she has suffered. Even if Sarita Devi has apologised is not because she wanted to but because she had to. By threatening her with a ban on the only livelihood that Sarita has worked hard to achieve, only shows that she is the one who will lose the fight once more. Unlike high paying sports like Cricket, Tennis and golf these sport personalities do not have any other sources of income rather than getting themselves punched in the face to earn a living. There are no big brands that will sign up Sarita Devi and no one will make a movie on her story as there is nothing interesting that they can cash back on.

The officials from the Sports Ministry/Federations travel with the team to ENJOY free benefits at the
cost of Indian Citizen and the sports persons. They are like leaches. I am truly ashamed that one of
our Gold Winning person suffered by the inaction/inhuman/irresponsible attitude of the officers, which
is now causing embarrassment to INDIA. Such officers SHOULD NOT represent India in any forum.

  • Rajinder Harpreet Hinder Binder - 10 years ago

I do not support her. There are more official ways of protesting the event but to disrespect your peers and the sport is typical Indian behaviour. I wouldn't expect much from a society that rapes children.

  • Yasir Ameen - 10 years ago

Why should she suffer for the non professional judgement , First the committe should say sorry for acceptance of these rascal judges . Then they should punish the judges , then only Sarita devi is to be punished

  • Deepesh - 10 years ago

GO GO SARITA JI.....INDIA IS SUPPORTING YOU ,WE ALL SUPPORTING YOU AND WE NEVER LET U DOWN SO FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT WHAT YOU HAVE DONE IS RIGHT SO AROUND THE WORLD PEOPLE MAY ALSO KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE ASIANS GAMES....

Indians are seen underdogs not only in the west but in east too! It is high fime that we show that we are taken seriously in all aspects. She has her country behind her but i doubt our meek official will refrain from playing politics.

  • Bhaskar - 10 years ago

One should really have some balls to put her career in line and stand up against these douche bags. Its high time that our indian boxing officials should learn something from this Fighter and support her. No wonder y india cant produce true sportsmen and women and now its finally out and its because of our useless officials. I support SARITA DEVI in her brave fight.

  • s kumar - 10 years ago

No politics please. Sarita we all simply PROUD of you.

  • dajo ngomle - 10 years ago

Sarita Devi is a brave lady. What she'd done is abslutely right and justified. AIBO & OCA should think before leveling Sarita breach the sportsmenship spirit, they should find the truth behind and assess the role of Judges and refree whether the judges and refree of that unfortnate bout bear the spirit and ethics of judge and refree.

Shame on the Indian contingent officials.

A BIG shame on judges and MORE BIG SHAME for indian board of boxing

  • sur - 10 years ago

All our boxers have to be distributed one punch to each corrupt IOA organizers then set fire alive them all. Until n unless we thrashing these bull shit politicians out of IOA, Indian sports will never develop......

  • Scientific Viewpoint - 10 years ago

She did absolutely right. An action had to be taken and she did whatever was in her control. The question is whether she should have bowed down to the decision OR should she become a martyr by getting a ban. Independent and righteous people always prefer to be a martyr then to bow down against injustice. That is what she did. That's what Bhagat Singh did in the freedom struggle. Would you praise complaint govt officers in British India or Bhagat Singh who laid his life for the cause?

  • Kumar - 10 years ago

It is OK for the home team to cheat. That is sportsman spirit. When the victim protests, that is unsportsman like.

  • Sumit Joshi - 10 years ago

I strongly support Sarita Devi................Whatsever she has done is totally right...........

  • Prakhar - 10 years ago

Mr Modi shud take dis mattr

  • Rajesh Verma - 10 years ago

Koreans are great cheats. They raped the boxing as a sports. Sarita is 100% right and done great great great service to the sports. The five judges were morons, idiots, fools, rascals and brainless fellows who do not even know the abc of boxing. Shame on the part of Boxing associations world wide. Sarita is a brave girl and requires support and full hearty applaud. She deserves the best recognition ever. Government at center must ensure that officials (rats) who were present their must be kicked where it hurt most. Now let us see what action government takes against these rats. South Koreans are greatest thieves and cheaters.

  • Mohit Garg - 10 years ago

If Sarita genuinely tried to file a report and wasn't able to do so because of Money shortage, then I'll definitely support what she did.

  • chuhwanglim - 10 years ago

There are still some hell people who voted for "No, I think what she did was wrong"

  • Kumar Satya Prakash - 10 years ago

Where is Indian National Congress now ? or Mrs. Sonia Gandhi or Mr. Rahul Gandhi who says being Indian is his Religion ? Have all of them gone mute and dumb ?

  • Kumar Satya Prakash - 10 years ago

PM Mr. Narendra Modi should take a serious cognizance of this insult meted out to an Indian and India as a whole , and raise the matter with appropriate International forums of South Korea. Mr. Modi should dismiss all Indian officials with immediate effect who did not help her ,when she was in need.

  • Vishnu bhise - 10 years ago

Shame on south Koreans, the referees and Indian officers who do not supported her.

  • Sushil Kumar Asthana - 10 years ago

Sarita Devi is true patriot. She is absolutely right to refuse. South Koreans are very corrupt and will do anything such as lie or bribe to get what they want. In her case she is the gold medal winner but corrupt official denied this her so that one of their own gets it. I am ashamed of Indian officials there and Government of India not siding with her and giving her full support. As usual Indian officials are spineless idiots. Sarita Devi ji is not only a great athlete but also a great Indian Patriot. I am very proud of her and if someone could send me her address or she could get in touch with me I will be more than happy to help her financially.

Jai Sarita Devi, Jai Bharat Mata, Jai Hind.

    Sushil

No body can help in that time she is worring f0r money then finaly words are coming after she is refused to wear medal is not correct ,bloody idiets saritha doing correct it is the warning for all wrong doeras she sacrifice her boxing life for all boxing lovers she is real fighter jai sarithadevi

  • PunyaNaik - 10 years ago

I support her not because of fellow Indian, because every action should have equal and opposite reaction. If she is really sure that she did great job than her opponent then she has the right to let the whole world know it. And I feel that's what is happening now. Do we still need to lead the life in an environment where favoritism and biased decisions are made OR we should lead the life in the world where the mind is without fear and head is held high...If the disciplinary action agains Sarita Devi invoked then it would really be the foolish decision ever in the history.

  • amy - 10 years ago

  • Sanjay - 10 years ago

I disagree. You have to accept the decision of the judges. They might have committed the mistake intentionally or it may be a human error. But creating a scene at the time of medal distribution ceremony is uncalled for. Discipline has tobe maintained. A complaint to the concerned body could have been lodged.

  • Well - 10 years ago

Sometime it is better to take strong decision and I strongly favour Sarita Devi for his strong decision. We must have courage to challenge the wrong thing. Really you rock..............

  • raj - 10 years ago

Shame on judges nd India's board for not supporting her. Sarita u r d best..the judges deserves to be hanged upside down

  • JayR - 10 years ago

Sorry, I had a missed word in my previous comment.

I mean "For NOT disputing the results and for NOT lodging complaints".

  • JayR - 10 years ago

Shame on India (the officials and coaches) for disputing the result and lodging formal review of the matter.

It hurts our athletes the most. Shame on India....

We are proud of you Saritaji. You were awesome in the match.

May you win many Gold Medals in the future.

The same thing happened in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In one of the bout harpreet was leading in the second round and in the third round all of a sudden the score board went blank and when it started again the Kazakh Opponent was leading. At the end of the bout there was not a single word of protest from our coaches. When I confronted the coaches in the hotel reception they started giving stupid excuses that they do not have money to lodge a complaint. Even inspite of me offering the money, they did not. I abused them badly and felt ashamed of them. The boxer a good friend of mine felt so demoralized by this reaction of the coaches. The Indian coaches are toothless. I generally host and take care of all the boxers when ever they are in Kazakhstan. I do not see any contribution of the Indian coaches in the performance of the boxers. They are just there to get their salaries, allowances and other perks. I can guarantee 100% that if we get some coaches from abroad, more than half of our boxing team would come home with gold medals. Nobody must have seen the Indian boxing team closer abroad than me and most of them are my very good friends. Now sarita is another example. I do not know how many more boxers must have gone thru the same ordeal in the past.

  • Chandra S S Deopa - 10 years ago

Its indeed a shameless act on the part of the organising committee which was conducting the boxing event in South Korea.

There has to be an act of accountability on the judges for the professional conduct and incase the are biased for what ever reasons they got top be punished and a redressal system has to be there to undo a wrong judgement by them.

We must be loud enough to be heard to make the shameless South LKorean organisers held accountable.

Our coaches and federation staff deputed to assist the team must have a plan to handle such a incident. Its a shame that they are forcing the boxer to do their job of trying to get justice for the player. To place it squarely only competent and audacious official who can handle situations must be send and lets not make it a holiday for them. We must now investigate the reason for lapses .

Our sympathies are with Sarita and we have high expectations that she will outshine in many bigger championships such as Olympic and world championships

Sarita UP UP . You will do well and achieve greater laurels than this small medal which has demeaned itself.
