    This is definitely a myth:

    "NoSQL databases are the only databases capable of handling the amount of data that is going to be produced by Internet of Things"

    Just like COBOL is dead too I guess.........

    IMO, everybody wins!
    There is no point in debating about which is better between NoSQL and SQL databases. The developer should choose a database product that suits their needs.

    SQL will dominate. Just as Windows and to a lesser extent, Apple's OS of the day, STILL dominate despite the efforts of Linux. SQL has withstood waves crashing into it for years. As some efforts seem to come close to breaking the SQL seawall, SQL adapts. Maybe the Borg is a better analogy as opposed to a seawall.

    Anyway, SQL will adjust. With MySQL being available, the SQL language has been given new life, and the creation of an army of DBAs who use it will ensure so long as they are entrenched, that NoSQL will not win.
