That is an interesting point you make, MisterG.

    Many Thanks

It depends on how the student is doing in school. My own experience as a HS teacher has been that the students can least afford to be absent from school, are the ones most likely to be going on family vacations and the opposite seems to also be true.

    Thanks Claire.

It certainly is a difficult one. Thanks very much for your contribution.

I have voted yes because I feel it is unfair some families can not afford to take their children away Uk or otherwise. Most of the time it's not the parents fault they just struggle with work. However saying this I believe children should have stability and set school holidays get children in a routine. So with that something needs to change either allow parents to take children out of school for a set amount of time or travel companies need to change the way they price holidays and stop penalising people with children.

That seems fair enough, Jacqueline. Thank you for your contribution.

I have voted don't know as generally no children should not holiday during term time however they may be exceptional circumstances ie bereavement, restrictive patent holiday dates, illness etc whereby a holiday or period away from school could be much more important. I have three children and teach therefore can view both sides and certainly there have been events in my life that have affected my children's education.
