By the time the patient is seen by doctor(s) and test have been done, it could be at least 8-12 hours before you know if an admission will be done. Not all hospitals work at a fast pace and a lot has to do with injury at hand.

Depending on the location and the incident details, it will not always be feasible to report a hospitalization at once....Sure, once after you find out and that could be after a weekend has passed.
