This is NOT the old United Airlines where you knew in your heart that safety ALWAYS came first and the door was open at any level to express safety concerns. Not so any more. Ask most employees what they think about the new united CEO/management and if they are honest, they will tell you that this new united management doesn't care about anything but making money at any cost...safety, destruction of careers by outsourcing to the cheapest bidder. If I didn't know better I'd say the CEO is driving the airline over the cliff and will jump off with his golden parachute just before bankruptcy is declared.

Those 8% who voted yes are the first to cry for help when things go wrong! For me it shows that I won't be flying with UA anymore if that's is the way they handle safety pax will vote with there feet!

as flight attendant myself I would have also not operated the flight. Upon discovey on the captains walk around he should have asked that graffiti be removed. Security checks are always DONT in aircraft so for peace of mind couldn't this have been cleaned off first. This was a wrongful termination and im sure any one of you whom disagrees would feel differently if you were going to be stuck in a plane for 12+ hours. Give the damn flight attendants their jobs back!

Does united really want to encourage their employees to look the other way when it comes to safety and security issues?? Because this type of punishment definitely sends a message that UA management doesn't care and just wants their flights to operate, even if a safety issue like this is written up!!! Glad I don't work for United, how dare they treat these crew members like this!

The writings were found during the walk around by the fligh deck crew. It was reported to the corporate security and the flight attendants were informed as well. At that point the crew made the decision to not operate the flight.

There has to be more to this story. Every flight the pilots and ground personal have to do a walk around before ad after each flight. Thus would of been noticed and wrote up until the logs. So I'm going to have to agree with United on this until further information becomes available.
