Is this the devil bill....LCO #666 beware! This is absurd. Families should be accountable not the state.....totally agree with you Paul.

This state has a lot of money and keeps taxing more and more. No wonder people are leaving then what? Raising taxes because they will be losing the money from the people that left.

Why stop now the only thing left to tax is the air we breathe, everything else necessary to sustain life has a tax on it!

This is the problem with these elected officials. They think one size fits all. The people with weight issues are not going to care if it cost more, they will still buy it. The people who buy soda/candy who don't have a problem with their weight, are penalized. Maybe the elected officials should work harder to make fresh fruits and vegetables more affordable. Better yet lets try not allowing people to buy them with state aid.

all these taxes- just pushing people out of CT!! im not a smoker- put for petes sake legalize marajuana like Colorado did.. then you wont be trying to come up with all these frivolous taxes!!!!!

Is another frivolous tax necessary? Keep throwing more taxes on the backs of the taxpayers, before you know it, everyone will be leaving the state (as they are now) and there won't be anyone left living in this ridiculously, over-taxed state. Who will pay your salaries then?

Why not just stop give money away to all these other countrys and we won't have to keep taxing the American people.

State Representative Juan Candelaria can go suck an egg. Enough already. The governing of our own bodies should start at home. Not in the governors office.

Tax items equally instead of constantly slamming the smokers, drinkers, candy eaters, car drivers

What's next, a tax on air?

Why don't legislators try and solve some real problems.

In all honestly, parents should be teaching their children the time to have those sweets and soft drinks and when not to. Why should I pay another tax when I'm living in one of the most heavy taxed states in the nation. Give me a break. Learn how to eat and to drink certain things in moderation. Having a tax is not necessary. This guy is just trying to make a point or try to add another tax to the amount of taxes the state has.

Why do I have to pay another tax to support a program that will never make it to the middle class. Do we really need to wonder why CT was recently researched into the top 10 states people were moving out of and not into.
