Speroni has been first choice under maybe eight/ten managers. He's a very good keeper who is playing exceptionally well. He had a weakness with crosses but he has worked and worked on this aspect and continues to improve. He's a wonderful shot stopper. He's not as big or strong as Hennessey so his kicking distance is not at far but time and time he brings off a spectacular save often at a crucial time in the game . His save with a few mins to go in the 12/13 play-off final at he feet of Troy Deeney was immense as was his save from a point blank Eden Hazard shot last season. One got Palace into the Premiership and the second helped them beat Chelsea and pull away from relegation. At the moment he is definitely Palace's No 1 although age may wither him soon.

Surprised to see 40% of people want to see Speroni replaced. Time and time again he comes to our rescue. He's nowhere near finished yet.

There are clearly weaknesses in speroni's game but these are not new weaknesses and are not a result of age... and he is a brilliant shot stopper. We have had a series of managers now who have picked him over Hennessey as number 1 and that says more about the two keepers than what we see once a week.
