Depends. Are we talking 2 picks in the high 20's? Or are we talking 2 picks in the 8-13 range? I'd give two #27 picks for Julio or Dez or Demaryius or AJ. Calvin has too many miles, but is a wonderful player.

There are maybe 5 players in the NFL that you could argue are worthy of that, and none of them play WR.

Running backs are proving to be dime a dozen in today's NFL and the WR position is slowly evolving into the same thing, provided the GM of said team knows WTF he's doing....and as we've seen, many don't seem to fall into that category.

You guys talking about a "missing link" need to remember that Chicago and Detroit in the last year were the teams that were "just one receiver away from a Lombardi". Well.....that was addressed and they are still looking at empty pockets.

One first rounder is another thing....two first-rounders handcuffs your team and turns it into the Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars a few years later. Impact WRs can be found mid to late in most drafts, and giving those kind of ace cards for a guy other than say like Aaron Rodgers is ludicrous.

And why would anyone want to wash Jerry Rice's clothes with all that sticky crap all over them?

First of all, if you have a championship caliber team, while the two first-rounders are not as valuable, this year's Super Bowl proves that you don't need a stud wideout, so it isn't worth it. A bad team that really needs some talent could truly benefit from a stud WR, but because they aren't very good, the two picks are not worth the risk. If you had to pick a guy from the list, Dez, Julio and Odell are the only choices worth considering ... the other guys are either 1) too old or 2) injury prone (although some might throw Julio into this category).

This Was Jerry Jone the Moron GM at his best to destroy the Cowboys legacy . He Had no clue how to draft or buid a team -

Calvin Johnson is not consistent. So whoever wrote that above is wrong. If Jerry Rice was on the list, then maybe he is worth two 1st round picks. You can find a great WR in the first 3 rounds of the draft in most years.

Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomkas are on my list. All three are consistently productive and almost impossible to stop. Let's not lose track of the fact that, as others have said, there is a QB factor. If my QB were Josh McCown I would trade two draft choices and a QB for a QB if there were no viable QBs in the draft. If it were Peyton Manning or Dan Marino that would be different.

Easy none. People tend to forget WR is maybe the easiest position to hit on in mid rounds and you dont need a CJ to win. Heck last few teams to win the SB barely have good WR cores. When you have guys like Watkins, Stong, and White in a draft you dont need to give 2 1st to get a good WR.

It depends on who my qb is and what numbers I anticipate those picks being. Strong qb and late picks? Then I wooul consider Bryant. OBJ has not proven himself for long enough yet. Everyone else is not dominan or young enough.

I would give up 2 first rounds for A great WR.Dez is the only great Established WR but Odell would be hard not to.The only reason is been in the league one year. The other one is Johnson and he is showing signs of slowing down. The overall pick like I said would be Dez.

I would do it for Beckham Jr., if I had two good/great receivers for him to learn from but still get playing time. Johnson if I'm a contending team with cap space and could use that threat at receiver. Dez, Julie, A.J., and Demaryius if I was the ravens with strong locker room, Steve Smith as of right now looks like he will finish out his career there, its a stretch but he is young enough to give it a try because if they can get a rythem they would amazing an add that piece to get you a step closer with being a few more to be superbowl contenders and if 3 years give or take you will still be able to get a decent return for them. Antonio a extreme long shot but if I feel we have our franchise quarter back an had no one for him to throw to. Also take into consideration that all moves would most likely add cap casualtys an in the process regain picks through that so your not cutting your legs off for the next two-3 years. Coaches with their careers on the line I feel would be more inclined to do suck a move to make a "big splash" in a attempt to save their career.

No receiver is worth 2 number one picks. Only Jordy Nelson has a ring and that would not have happened in Aaron Rogers hadn't been the QB, oh and he was the 36th pick. Receivers don't win you championships, defense and QBs do. Hell, Jerry Rice wasn't even a #1 pick and these people on this list couldn't wash his clothes.

After the problems CJ had with his ankle this season I could not justify 2 1st round picks on him. If I was gonna lose my mind and do that Dez is the only cat that I could justify doing that with. He is gonna be a monster whoever he plays for. Yeah he may take a play here or there off but when he has to make the catch and has decided that he is gonna get the ball there is not a defender in the league that can stop him, he is gonna get his you can bet on that!

  • mike - 9 years ago

every wr on the list in their prime is worth that if that was the missing piece for a superbowl contending team!! except beckham(just a rookie) if he did what he did this yr 2 more times yes...but in reality at the moment I feel only dez Bryant and Antonio brown are worth it everyone else is either dealing with consistant injuries or are winding down in their career

You also have to consider age.

I'd consider Beckham to maybe be worth two picks if they were later first round picks, because he is a rookie and has virtually no upper limit at this point.

Calvin Johnson may be the best wide receiver TODAY, but he'll be thirty before the season is very old this coming year. If you are going to give up two number ones you'd better be getting value AND youth.

Only a few of those guys are worth ONE first-round pick...
