Sorry about the unedited typos above. I'm new to this MacBook Air laptop stuff and thought maybe there would be a moment for editing my comment. Sigh.

In 37 years of teaching and endless faculty/department meetings, I saw wine only at the expense of teachers after the work was finished. Of course, if administrators, teachers, and parents are working till 11:30 at night after a full day i the office/school house, I could imagine how tempting it could be to reach for a glass of wine. Maybe so on a Friday night.. but then, I always left those Friday meetings early!

No to taxpayers money spent this way. Looks like there are ore important things to be learned about strip searching the student body and learning the ways of the new Minister of Education in Quebec.

    Austerity
    Qc debt
    Poverty
    Opportunity
    Education

Would be my top concerns. In an age where scandal and corruption competitions in Qc must include intrigue, smoke and mirrors, shredding of evidence and interest from the population as a whole... This story lacks something that always rings true with a typical reader from Qc. I don't see the evidence that something corkscrewy is going on. What are the rules about drinking and snacking? Where is the proof it is a slush fund? Because I've guy called it that is not an argument. Questionable behavior could be attributed to personal issues and immaturity before I would consider wine as the sole cause. I also want to see the evidence that it's unlawful spending of expense money. The issue seems more about they drink and they shouldn't rather than identify clearly what money paid for it and fighting to remove alcohol as a legitimate purchase with board expense money. Prove to me I should care is what lacks in this story in my opinion. Good luck.
