With K-State's courtstorming Monday, is this indicative of exuberance, or do more rules need to be set to protect players, coaches, & fans?

Embarrassed coach? What are you talking about "Tom Humphrey"? It is a safety issue and also disrespectful to the opposing team and coaches. When was the last time you saw KU students "storming" the basketball court? Also the jeering, disturbing remarks, make disturbances while visitors shoot free throws goes both ways and is also completely different than "storming" the court.

So the AD said they didn't get ready soon enough? That's BS. There were plenty of indications in the last 3 minutes that a K-State win was likely, and enough clock stoppages in the last minute for adequate security to be on hand. The K-State AD didn't care. He should be fired immediately.

From the experience of a tremendous court storming in South Bend in January 1974, I don't agree with all storming the court moments being banned. But, I think that protocol for all NCAA games should include the home team providing protection for the visiting team and their bench regardless of of who won the game. The protocol might include campus security, athletic department personnel, and local law enforcement officers to be present. Both athletic directors and school presidents had to be well aware of the competitive nature of the in- state rival game, the frustration of the KSU fans and were the number of fans in the gymnasium beyond capacity. Either way, the home team must provide protection. University presidents and AD's should be advised of their responsibilities in such games and provide accordingly and in a timely manner.

I had no rooting interest in either team last night other than RPI but it sure was an exciting basketball game!

Why not just take the fans out of it completely and have closed games? If home fans can jeer at, make disturbing remarks to, and make disturbances while the visitors shoot free throws; why can't they show the home team support when they pull an upset like KSU did over KU? All that is needed is a little security to surround the coaches and players like they do in football. Sounds like an embarrassed coach talking to me.

NCAA needs to ban court storming. and all guilty schools, banned from post season. Then if fans want to act stupid, let them.
