I use iPad 3 ONLY and have no problem reading your email newsletters ever! I am low tech little old lady who learns something new everyday and never want to upgrade to iOS8... Just keep the emails accessible like they are so we can dance together always!
I think that whatever design program you are using, or the hosting site already has a box you check to provide a mobile version. There are also apps and choices on my phone to convert newsletters to a mobile friendly appearance. In addition, I go online to read the stories that interest me, so this contemplated change in presentation isn't an important issue for me.
I enjoy Treehugger and will read it whether you make a 'mobile friendly' version or not.

I use an Android phone and I haven't had any difficulties. The layout looks good, clean

I read with whatever device I'm using at the moment. Don't be so negative about printing. Occasionally it's helpful to print out a particular article that we might want to keep for long-term reference, especially if we may be in areas where there is no internet or cellphone connectivity. Having a "print friendly" option would be very nice. My Android smart phone displays everything just fine.

I read your newsletter on both my samsung android tablet and phone. It looks great and functions well, no problems at all.

For those of you printing for future use try "Pocket" nice for saving articles.....

I mostly use a desktop to look at Treehugger. I would like to use my smartphone sometimes, bu the Treehugger app does not update reliably. I can get to current stories, but it ends up requiring me to go to categories, what opens on the screen is frozen in time, usually months old.

Mostly smartphone, I suspended expensive Internet for now. I go to library and sometimes to print articles. I greatly enjoy the content and frequently forward to friends and the misguided.

PS: printing from the screen isn't as efficient as copying a post into Word. reformatting is easy and printing is fast. words of experience from a cyber-Neanderthal surviving the 21st century.

view it on computer but print out certain articles for MUCH more efficient retrieval when wanted. when i am interested in reviewing something, the last thing i want to do is boot up my computer, wait for it to load up [or is it down?] then search thru a bunch of posts to find what i'm looking for. good old fashioned manila file folders in alphabetical order work for me!

I print out the articles that are very interesting to me. This allows me to underline and write notes and use them for references. I would appreciate a print option. Printing from the screen wastes paper and is not as readable. Extra stuff is printed and the print is small and harder to read. Usually I cut and paste into word and edit before printing. My printer does print on both sides of the paper so that cuts down on waste. I also print on the back of paper that is already printed on one side. It would be good if the link was included on the print option.

Surely you must realize the whole world is going more and more to mobile devices. Many of us use iPhones or smartphones of necessity since we're on the go. Websites should always offer optimization for mobile devices so we can access stuff in readable form wherever we happen to be. If a website is not optimized for mobile devices, the chances of my reading articles later is slim to none, the first obstacle to doing so being that I have to remember to do so — which isn't likely, given the zillion things I have to remember already. I love the sends and hate missing articles just because they're too hard to read on my iPhone. Please optimize the site for mobile devices. You can put a mobile option button on the newsletter quite easily (and give a boost to readership).

I use my smartphone and despite the problem of having to go back to the email to open new articles I invariably read it all because it's so interesting and well-written. Your articles have inspired my partner and I to form a plan to down-size from our large, draughty 100 year old home to a smaller house that we could retro-fit to a really energy efficient standard. Please keep the newsletter coming - your pieces never fail to inspire me. Thank you from the UK.
90% on computer, 10% on iphone. I'd rather see more than less content! Mobile design leaves out so much.

Problem on smartphone is that its a pain to keep going back and forth from email to web site, having to reopen the app every time. One the computer a window opens automatically but the email doesn't close down.
