The idea of looking at boatyards has great appeal. I really enjoyed Peter brooks and the visit to Rawhiti etc to see quality work and could not attend the early visit to Ngataki .cruises up rivers have been fun when I have been able to attend. Overall I really think Mahurangii hits the spot with events for those who wish to be organised and just viewing thanks. For those who want a more relaxing time to soak up the ambience

    Alan
I enjoy your daily posts and find they enhance the pleasure of owning a classic. I also appreciate the odd answer to an email when trying to source a component or two.
When time permits we'll make it to an 'event'.

Alan, please try to worry not about the criticisms of others who contribute but little.
Active participation in organised social events so often is only by a regular minority.
For me, I enjoy accounts of notable cruises, eg. Laura Dekker who sailed Guppy solo around the World aged 14. Cruising around Cape horn and the southern tip of South America, cruising the canals of France.
Also, I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting boatyards - don't we all love restorations and new builds? - such as Peter Brooks, Alloy Yachts, and to once again see Chris McMullen's `Aladin's cave.

I'm interested in finding out information/pics about Granddad McGeady's boats and life. WW has been a great starting point thank you. As I live in Australia it's a little far to go to attend events.

I assume that you are referring to CYA organised events...
