It's foolish and cruel to subject students to a longer school day, especially there in the very humid, hot tropics. I taught in Guam public schools for 14 years (1967 - 1981) and vividly remember the heat and humidity. As it is, the Governor and the Guam Legislature don't do near what they should for the public school students and staff on Guam. I believe that if one checks thoroughly they will find that most of the top GovGuam officials send their children to private schools.
