Should the Kentucky county clerk have been sent to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples?

No, she should not! First: God's law trumps man's law, second: the U.S. Constitution gives her the right to exercise her faith, third: Section 5 in the Kentucky Constitution says that "No human authority shall, in any case whatever, control or interfere with the rights of conscience." Kim Davis is a victim of standing up for her rights of conscience. Period.

So much for the first amendment.

Yes! And she should stay there until she either agrees to follow the law and do her job, or resigns. If her religion conflicts with her job, she needs a different job. The same should apply to anyone else who chooses to follow her example.

These "couples" could have gotten their "marriage license" anywhere else but they just wanted to rub her face in her beliefs.
Are these "couples" even from the county they are forcing their political correctness law on?
I know, the supreme court says it the law. The supreme court has been wrong so many times, the Bible hasn't been.

Yes she should be jailed and if she continues to balk at issuing marriage licenses then she should be given a week without pay to think about it. If after that week of thoughts of separation of church and state she can either work or walk. Plain and simple. I believe in the Creator but each of us must make choices that will affect whether will pass the test when we move on to the next realm. It is not her place to judge if someone is making a wrong decision if it does not directly her functionality of her work place.
