I don't think Maths suffers as much from this as do most other STEM subjects. It seems to me that a lot of girls are conditioned at primary school to think of things like Physics or Engineering or Astronomy as suitable only for boys. Maths and Biology seem to suffer rather less, but aren't completely immune to this bias.
And as far as computer science and software is concerned, there seem to be asmaller proportion of women as age decreases, so in that area it's getting worse not better.
