I'm an Iraq combat vet, and rarely go to the VA because of the way I've been treated!
I went to Phx VA one day back in 2007 or 08
And just wanted to get my ID card.
I spoke to the person at the desk when I arrived
And before I even spoke a word he says take a number. I explained that I'm not here to be treated I just want to get my ID.
He says right, take a number and go sit with your fellow Vets and we'll get with you when we get with you!
Four and a half hours later the same guy calls me up to the desk and says what can I do for you?
I told him once again I'm not here to be seen, I just want to get my ID card, ( having the ID keeps you from having to bring a bunch of paperwork every time,it just makes it easier!)
The guy says ' cameras broke' with a smile!
I was so mad!
Fortunately I have health coverage thru my work that I pay for so I just use that.
I'd rather visit the VA but I don't want to be treated bad so I just don't go anymore....
