Do you think selling alcohol at the movies is a good idea?

    This is a test market, aka experiment. If we never conducted an experiment because there might be potential drawbacks we would still be living in caves. This is an opportunity for a business with stiff competition in the movie market (netflix/redbox/on demand) to be able to tap into a revenue stream that is being capitalized on by the restaurants/bars within literal walking distance. People can bring flasks just about anywhere, and likely do. The only thing that's going to change is the profitability of your local theater ensuring they stay in business so you can continue to enjoy the experience. If it turns out to be a liability because our 'worst fears' have come true, then I can't imagine they would continue or even be allowed to continue. I'm proud of Fort Wayne for having the fortitude to stand up to the historically stale and prude modern prohibition standards that are a reflection of the loud minority.

    If this is being done at the cinema grill then let the drunks go there. I don't care to set there and watch a movie smelling booze and have my grandchildren there . My smoke a fends people booze a fends me. We have enough problems in fort wayne why add fuel to the fire.

    Are we going to introduce alcohol into the theaters when there are already problems in them? Good grief, are we idiots? With this law, a person wanting to commit multiple murders, can go in, have a beer or two, then go on in to the movies and do their deed. I'm beginning to wonder where Ft. Wayne's "common sense" is at.........we have plenty of bars here. I will not take my grandchildren to a theater that serves alcohol, and I hope others feel the same.

    Ok, who thinks selling alcohol at a venue that is less secure than a mall. Where people can walk in with weapons and go on rages. So does this mean that Carmike will have more police presence like bars do, or security like a bar does?

    Too many minors present without adults; too many young adults willing to buy alcohol for minor friends;
    too many who will overindulge and become obnoxious/belligerent; too many drinkers driving on the roads.

    Movie theater are for watching movies, not for buying beer. If you want to drink during a movie, go rent one. This could lead to more accidents as well.
