Who should be the next Titan head coach?

I believe Cowher and Dungy can be ruled out, due to both stating they'd no intentions of being NFL coaches again, and though money may talk, both are happy with their studio positions at CBS and NBC respectively.
As for coach Fisher, if the Rams head back to LA, he's going, too, as he's an alumnus of USC.
As well, Jon Gruden seems happy with ESPN MNF. Okay, then who?
Unlike Philadelphia, who hired Oregon's Chip Kelly a couple of years ago and fans there are close to being ready to run him out of town on a rail, a college head coach shouldn't be the answer, and I am sure there are those who think "How about Urban Myers at Ohio State?", but as many NCAA coaches have learned, the difference between NCAA gridiron and the NFL is huge.
Again, who? I'd like to see the Titans go through a professional sports coaches vetting company, as other NFL & college teams have done, match the team's strengths and weaknesses with what HC candidates who can seriously address the needs of the Titans, who has a legitimate voice in drafting, free agents signing and trades to improve specific needs, and one who knows that in order to win fans back to supporting the Titans and attending the games (notice many empty red "club level" seats, seats which if not used by the owning persons or companies, ought to put them up for sell at face value for fans who would GLADLY fill them), THE HEAD COACH needs to be the "Face" of the team, such as Jeff Fisher did while he was Tennessee's head coach.
So, then who fits the criteria? All I can say is "Good luck!" to the team's primary owner in filling the spot.

I hope we take a look at Josh Mcdaniels or Pep Hamilton. Make sure they've got a good DC in mind lets get going.

The audition of the interim coach is a great opportunity to have a past head coach that is somewhat familiar with the players, offense, defense and perceived strengths and weakness's. I would reserve any early judgments for a number of games down the road. I think we may have our next head coach so lets take a look and hope for the best.

Chip Kelly eagles, let him be head coach & GM like he is now. Ruston Webster is just as bad as the wiz. let Ruston Stay & do the paperwork for chip. offenses in the nfl are headed in a more wide open approach anyhow & Chip has had success with it. Marcus is happy, solved two positions with one move and an offense that is fun to watch. just my opinion, but we,ve tried old school for years & it hasn't worked.

Hello....these guys (Cowher, Gruden, Johnson, etc.) are retired for a reason. And they certainly are not going to come out of retirement for the mess that is the Titans. Throw money at the Saints' coach. Even Jeff Fisher would stand a fighting chance. At least he would have a "honeymoon" period. But even Fisher didn't have sustained period of success. It's just going to have to be the right fit, i. e., James Franklin at Vanderbilt. Who would've known that that obscure assistant coach would've taken Vandy to three bowl games in three years? It's just going to have to be that same kind of "lucky" guess with the Titans too.

While it would be great to dream about getting Cowher, Gruden or Dungy, let's not kid ourselves. Are any of these elite coaches really going to come to Tennessee to coach the Titans?? Maybe for an obscene amount of money. Titans ownership should offer any one of these three coaches $8-$10 million a year. It would be worth it to dig this franchise out of the deep hole it's in.

I like the Schwartz suggestion. Greg Roman Buffalo OC late of the 49ers. Tom Clements GB OC.

While I wouldn't mind having Mike Munchak back to help, the reality is the Titans need new thinking and new approaches to coaching. They need someone new, someone who welcomes the acquisition and implementation of information - because that's how the game is won now - as opposed to some outdated coach who tries to win with athleticism and letting his players freelance. That doesn't work anymore. They need a Belichick-esque approach to coaching.

I say we target someone who can push the team hard. I want somebody who is gonna push this team for success. I know it's a long shot but perhaps if we targeted the coach at Oregon it would ease the burden of Mariota having to start over learning another system. Just a thought. Bill Cowher would be my next choice.

I believeEddie George would make a terrific coach. He is well liked and knows football and the players needs.

The Titans need a different caliber coach, like Jon Gruden, Mike Ditka, Bill Cowher, or Jimmy Johnson. Someone who can light a fire under the player's butts! Munchak and Wisenhunt just stood idle on the sideline during losing games and did/said nothing!
