What should Rutgers do?

Fire Flood and hire Shaun O'Hara. O'Hara is smart and highly ethical. As a center he has a good sense of strategy. He would have the respect of the players and be a wonderful role model for them. He could do for Rutgers what Harbaugh did for Michigan.

This time, select an AD on merit, not just because he/she is the "first" this or that. Political correctness does not run an athletics department or win football games. Let's learn from the Hermann debacle.

Flood was hired out of desperation. As usual, RU had no contingency plan for replacing Schiano-surprising since football coaches move on all the time.

If RU wants to be a big time program, it needs to hire and retain big time talent in critical positions.

Both Hermann & Flood have embarrassed RU and have been an embarrassment to the high standards that RU has been known for. As an alumnus, I feel strongly that both should be let go.

Flood is absolutely clueless. Cannot coach offense, defense or special teams. Cannot make half time adjustments. Cannot motivate players. Cannot recruit. Cannot offer suggestions to assistant coaches. Doesn't understand field position or time management. Has never even been a coordinator. Has no concept of leadership. Loyalty should be team first not individual favorites. Flood has been hanging on to his gravy train as he fell into it when Schiano bailed.

Both Hermann and Flood must go to save the integrity of the school and advance the football program I cannot think of another coach that wouldn't change quarterbacks when it was obvious that one was struggling on the field with no reasonable explanation when interviewed For this longtime fan of over 55yrs this was the topper in a season that otherwise defeats reality

Let's face it... didn't we know Hermann was the wrong pick even before she started, and that Flood clearly wasn't a BIG-caliber coach when he was named? And since then, Hermann has done nothing but embarrass Rutgers and has been completely muzzled and invisible (hardly the role of an AD) - and Flood has wiped-out his "nice, decent guy" image with his scandalous effort to subvert the academic environment and, too, embarrass the university, cheating and strong-arming a professor and lying about it... all for a less-than-mediocre team. They both must go, NOW, and never should have been put in those positions in the first place. How much longer do we have to suffer, and how much longer before Barchi is finally dumped as well?

Start again with new AD and coach. I would offer the AD job to Schiano. Let him hire the coach and let him run the entire athletic dept. He always had a great vision of what Rutgers could be.

If NJ recruits were staying in state I's think different. But this 2016 class has hardly any top NJ players, and even worse, the top guys are all going to Big Ten EAST teams. That wont change unless we get a proven coach, and Im sorruy that man is NOT kyle Flood. Rutgers needs a strong leader at both AD and coach, and the time to start looking is NOW!!
