Do you agree that MPs should declare all gifts above €150?

    Pigs will fly before this overwhelming expectation from the public is met b y the politicians.

    Receive gifts?! How dare they! As a civil servant I am not allowed to receive any form of gift lest it be misinterpreted as corruption, and in fact receive an annual reminder from out Principal Permanent Secretary to this effect. Rightly so too, but this should also (and more so) apply to MPs too. Case of two weights, two measures?

    They shouldn't accept any kind of gift in the first place. Receiving gifts from clients is already a form of corruption!

    The question is not the right one. Members of Parliament should be banned from receiving gifts above a certain threshold. In my office I am banned from accepting any gifts which I cannot share with colleagues and I deal with relatively small contracts compared to the responsibilities of Members of Parliament.
