I think Mom and Dad knew full well their kid wouldn't stay in bed, so they decided to put on a show to make his (and their) Christmas more memorable. It's about parents with great senses of humor.

I am 72 - old school. Leave it to Beaver / Ozzie and Harriet generation. Music is interpretive, but I always “knew” the kissing was pure between mom and dad. Different generations accept different behavior. During my childhood, extramarital affairs, although real, were not something approved of, so songs weren’t written about it.....

If the kid was supposed to be asleep, why did Daddy have to dress up? Mom and Dad must've had some kinky role-playing thing going on.
