For next season, and next season only, who would you want as your QB?

Newton is a "hot dog"on his personal ego trip. He won't last long playing running back.

Okay, let me enlighten you. Yes, Cam is playing great, he's gone from being a middle of the pack QB to a top 5 QB (In my opinion, top 3, behind Brady and Rodgers) over one year.

However, upon closer inspection, the numbers are very skewed for Aaron Rodgers vs. Cam Newton.

Both Cam Newton and Brady are playing with the best TE's in the league. Both have great defenses playing opposite of them (Particularly the Panthers with the 2nd best defense overall).

Now, Brady was playing with an average, at best offensive line this year, with virtually no running game and injuries to his receivers and Gronk all year long.

Cam also was without his top WR all year long, however, while the Panthers WR's are not true #1's, you give them a little time and they will get open every time. And that's just the thing about the Panthers that people overlook. How AMAZING their offensive line has been. They are controlling the line of scrimmage with ease.

Now you give a big, mobile guy like Cam unlimited time and protection as well as these quick elusive receivers and you're going to give up a lot of points. Add a top 5 running game and top 2 TE to that mix and Cam is going to put up amazing numbers.

This is not to take anything away from Cam, he's playing GREAT right now, however, QB's will always get the praise and blame for their teams success, which in this case is unfair considering how this team literally has no weakness.

Put Brady behind this line and I guarantee you they would be in the same exact situation, going to the Super Bowl in a monstrous fashion.

NOW, Rodgers, on the other hand, would quite possibly make this team literally unstoppable. Rodgers was playing with a terrible offensive line this year, under constant pressure. A terrible running game (Until the last couple games of the year when they were able to get something going), and virtually no weapons at all for Rodgers.

While Brady and Cam have arguably the two best TE's in the league, no one outside Green Bay could name the Packers TE. His top WR, Nelson, has been out all year long, and it's not as if he's been playing just without his number 1. During the Cardinals playoff game, he was literally, at that point, playing without his TOP 4 WR's. And they still almost won.

People tend to focus on numbers only, award the QB on the best team as the anointed best QB in the league. People don't seem to get this is a team sport. You have a QB like Cam on a GREAT, ALL AROUND team, and he's going to put up monster numbers. You put a game manager QB like Alex Smith on this team, they are still probably in the Super Bowl, but probably have another 1 or 2 losses in the regular season, and probably don't win the last two games in such all around dominant fashion.

NOW, put a QB like Rodgers on this team, with the knowledge, accuracy, scrambling ability, and management that he has...wow...listen, I'm a die hard Panthers fan, have a Cam Newton signed jersey hanging on my wall, but Rodgers is still by far the best all around QB in this league. Put a guy like Rodgers, who has never had decent blocking or a great defense or a top TE (In a league where TE's are arguably more valuable than WR's) on this team and you might just have one of the greatest teams of all time.
