I too am from Virginia and have grown up and coached in the Virginia system. My original shock of the MD system is only outweighed by this year's multiple disasters with this system. I have attempted to explain the VA system to coaches to no avail, and I am excited to see this article. The old system has no reason to be in place other than people wanting change. If we want to advance this sport beyond the son age and place our hearts with the best interest of the athletes, it is time to evolve.
My thoughts go out to the athletes that had to suffer through this monstrosity of a system, Good luck outdoors. Great article Brandon, well overdue and thank you.

Very nice article. Not only did you point out a problem but offered a reasonable solution. Not sure what objections MPSSAA could possibly have.
