Phil Simms also had much better teams around him then Eli Manning did for a lot longer a time frame. He'll the team was so good around Simms even his Backup Jeff Hostetter won a Super Bowl. Can anyone say that about Eli's backup without laughing? I am not even sure who Eli's backup's were.
Simms was a much better overall player! He had better Leadership skills, he was more competitive, he had more desire and he played with a burning desire to win! I don't see that in Manning!
Phil Simms clearly the better pick. I looked Eli but Phil is the better player.
They must consider Eli a Giants draftee because the trade was confirmed before the Giants picked Rivers. Maybe The Chargers picked Rivers to trade for Eli, just a thought.
