    Tony -
    2004 NFL Draft
The San Diego Chargers originally held the rights to the first overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft due to their 4-12 record in 2003. With Manning being the most coveted player in the draft, it appeared that the Chargers' intentions were to draft him first overall. However, Manning (echoed by his father) stated publicly that he would refuse to play for the Chargers if drafted by them.[8] The Chargers selected him with the first pick overall nonetheless as the team had a deal in place with the New York Giants, whereby the Giants would draft and then trade Philip Rivers and draft picks (used to select Shawne Merriman and Nate Kaeding) to the Chargers for Manning.

Love them both, but LT changed the game.

Eli Manning and Lawrence Taylor both have two Super Bowl victories. And to Tony, yes Eli was a Giants first round pick via a draft day trade. If the Giants don't do that trade there's no way to say that the Giants draftee would have been Rivers.

LT did win 2 SBs with the GMEN. He and Parcel were together for both SBs best known because of the defense. 87 & 91

Eli wasn't our 1st round pick, you call your selves Giants fans

So Anthony with all due respect and using your logic that the number of rings makes one a better player than another, that means that these players must have really sucked since they have zero Super Bowl rings...
Barry Sanders (arguably the best running back ever to play the game); Dan Marino (one of the best QBs ever to step on the field); Tony Gonzales (1,300 receptions, over 14,500 receiving yards, and 107 TDs); Dick Butkus (the most feared player ever to play the game); Fran Tarkenton (even after being retired 40 years still ranks sixth ever with all time passing yards - over 43,000); and the list could go on. So if these guys are terrible players because they never won a ring I'd hate to see your list of average players.

With all due respect Anthony, no team has to prepare for Eli Manning like they did for LT! Players like LT are very hard to come by! One of a kind! Doesn't mean I'm not an Eli fan though, Go G men!

Eli= 2 Super Bowls Taylor = 1 super bowl ring so Eli is better

As much as I love Eli, and I have 2 Eli jerseys vs 0 LT jerseys.... Lawrence Taylor is my all time favorite player, and I believe is the best Giants player ever.
