Maybe to you it is a mess, but to others it is home, and no government has the right to take it for another private party's benefit. In my opinion, hard-working citizens who have paid their taxes and who have built a neighborhood that has been stable for generations should be a source of pride for any city.

Let's remember New London, Ct. and what happened there.
Many years have elapsed since the US Supreme Court, in one of its most notorious rulings, decided that seven homeowners in the Fort Trumbull neighborhood of New London, Conn., had no property rights which City Hall was bound to respect. Today Fort Trumbull is a wasteland.

I grew up in West Haven and will always love it! The area in question is horrible! I remember that it was nice at first, then when companies moved out, it became the mess it is today! I would love to see it become a source of income and pride for my former city that I still love!
