Peace be with you all, haters and lovers, my almighty GOD guide us all to the right path. It is truly disappointing to see that we still have educated people trying to prevent a minority group, good abiding citizens and their respective families, who live in Mukilteo and surroundings area, to have a place of worship where they can pray, teach their kids their religion, culture, history and science. This hate group is obviously out of line, and need to open up some books and start reading about true Islam, the Golden ages where Muslims led the way to the renaissance era in Europe and the world, pulling it from darkness to light. Terrorism has no religion, that applies for all faiths. We love our country too, and it is our constitution right to build not one mosque but more mosques, studies have showed having mosques, Synagogues or churches in neighborhood, makes them safer, and cleaner from drugs, alcohol free.

    Peace.

@Diana, thank you for your explanation, that was first question that came to mind. I realized from city's perspective, their default stance is it should be allowed and the poll question is challenging it. So I don't blame the person who wrote the question but as it is worded its not free from bias.

The GM /Editor of Mukilteo Beacon should remove this as this is clearly a violation of the constitutional rights.

I have never seen a poll to build a church or synagogue, why there is one to build a mosque? Isn't it every American constitutional right to have freedom of religion?

  • Diana - 8 years ago

From a statistical point of view the question is biased and sub-consciously is inferring opposing the idea. which should not be the case!

I believe that no one should be allowed to even take ballot on Freedom of religion which is a basic constitutional right of every citizen of USA. Everyone of you should be ashamed of this unconstitutional practice
