Should body armor be standard equipment for police K9 units?

Dogs aren't asked if they want to serve, whether it be the military or law enforcement; they are simply drafted. Since that is the case, the least we can do for our 4-legged protectors is to equip them with the best possible gear available as we do our police force. I am sending a contribution to this charity that supplies this equipment. The military has not taken care of all their serving animals, and I've read that tragically some have even been left behind. There are many stories of soldiers working tirelessly to get their dogs back to the U.S. so that they can be reunited. I am looking into to changing that sad situation as well. This should not be optional; if they serve, they are treated with the same parity as any other military or law enforcement person. They have earned it!
