What term do you think is correct?

    My preference is person with Autism. I care for special education students. I say this because my son has diabetes. He is not a diabetic because it isn't something he IS, it is something he HAS. While there may not be a cure for it yet, it is possible that there will be a cure someday, and that is good enough for me.

    I prefer the term "autistic" as it reminds me of complimentary terms like artistic or musical. I think that "a person with autism" sounds more like its an impairment or something that can be taken away. Just my thoughts.
