Does the sight of people leaving Mass early distract you from prayer?

I sing in the choir so I can't get up and leave, not that I'd want to. What bugs me is when the closing hymn is being sung, and the priest has processed down the aisle, about 3/4's of the congregation has left the pews and they are talking to their friends in church so loudly that it drowns out the choir. That is quite disrespectful. We sang the Hallelujah chorus as our postlude on Easter and maybe 20 people stayed for that after we had practiced so hard and long during the weeks prior to Easter. We sing for the Lord. It's a shame people don't get what it's all about.

For many years I went to Mass because it was the right thing to do. One day I realized I wanted to go because God is there and it is a blessing. Now I go sound 5 times a week because I love the Lord and with the Eucharist, he is truly present in me. I also take the Eucharist to a home for the elderly so that God can bless them with his presence.
