After several years of tums and famotidine, I've found that nothing works better that a red delicious apple. I have a nice, cold, medium-size apple every morning after my coffee and another before I go to bed at night. It's a relief to be able to sleep through without having to reach for the tums several times during the night. Oh, what a relief it is!

I have been suffering with acid reflux for about 3 years now I was told as we get older sometimes our stomach causes problems I have not always been a great eater at eating the right things so I talk it down to maybe not eating the proper stuff however I learned not very long ago that eating an apple well help with my gerd and my acid reflux I have to admit I was taking a medication for acid reflux and gerd that was not good for my body and when I learned about the apples I got off the medication and I started having the apples I eat an apple before bed and I have no pain and no discomfort I eat an apple after breakfast would normally I would have an upset stomach but eating the apple sucks everything down and after lunch if I don't have an apple I'm in pain and Agony but if I do have an apple there's no pain no Agony so for me and it's really helped a lot and I'm going to continue eating apples and Be Drug Free because the drugs are no good for you they only cover up the problem they don't heal it but I think apples will kill the problem over a. Of time so for me apples are Ace number one

Apple juice sends my acid reflux soaring and causes me extreme pain. I can consume raw apples, apple sauce, apple cider, apple pie, and apple butter with no problems. The juice is the only form of apples that seems to bother me.

Excuse me! Apples cured my CERD for ever! While medications only covers my pain! Sometimes it simply needs more than one apple, whenever the pain hits. At last the pain goes for a very long long time, like a year or more! Imagine the stomach is a car engine, what you do to cool it down? Do you cover it by tape ( medications) or cool it down? ( Apples) cool it down that is right apple! I read that from and an old man wrote about his experience with apples when he was almost die from CERD.

Any way just to let you know

    Thank you

I have suffered with reflux for years and I have tried lots of different things to lets say ease the symptoms as I don't think it's totally curable, I can only say a work colleague told me about apples relieving their reflux and they was right... I was so grateful to this person, when suffering especially at night I notice the acid coming up in my throat and a feeling of stuck burps, I eat a apple but it must be a red one and after 10 minutes I let out a very satisfying belch and my reflux calms right down.. I can only put it down to the apple changing the pH balance in your stomach but I am no expert... It works for me though.. Hope this helps you fellow sufferers

Raw whole apples have no bad effect, but I have been using apple sauce made with green cooking apples as a spread instead of butter. I have a suspicion that it has a slight negative effect. I don;t have any better option though
