So: don't over think the last scenes. A slap started the ball rolling and a slap ended it - justifiable! Yes, I agree that too much was cramed into a one hour roller coaster, but it was so classic for those of us who had watched from the very beginning. I did not particular enjoy the Will Gardner pop ups but I never really like that whole arc anyway.
The women could have dominated together, but each in their own way could have done the female partnership in, so be careful what you wish for!

I loved the first few years....waited eagerly for each episode.t.he court scenes were excellent...then the program got into themes that went on way too long, and became boring...This coupled with the move to Sunday evenings when we never knew the time of the show, and at times it was so late..too late to watch resulted in a ho hum until this past year when the writers got it together and again came up with good scripts including the great court room scenes. Once in a while there were too many things being worked on during one episode..and I would get in to one when suddenly the scene changed and we were in to a different issue which was unnerving, confusing. The last few programs were up to the excellent par, The final episode should have been 2 hours because there was a lot going on..and with the return of Will ( went on too long) and the fast moving ending, I was left with a question mark in my mind. Would alicia continue in Diane's firm? what happened to Gary? and a few other questions...

The show was wonderful! The writing and the characters were well developed.
I personally loved the finale. I figure it shows Alicia's life will go on. We don't have to know exactly where, it is obvious she has the confidence and strength to do well.
I also loved the ending to The Sapranos!

Do u mean I set through 7 seasons of watching Alicia be the "shero" of everybody's problems to watch NO ONE win in the end? How messed up is that?

Juliana Margulis I really like but her bland a acting and stoic looks became sickening quickly.
I would get disgusted and turn to something else....she is a better actress that she displayed here, right?

Never understood why it was called the Good Wife!!

Peter fooled around but so did she..his values weren't great but neither were hers.

He ended up with his career over and hers up in the air....

    Tit for Tat!

I am going to miss waiting for the minute the episode went up on line so I could watch before it aired two days later in Australia. I saw a interview where Cush explains being an obsessed fan and thinking she knows all the characters personally. Well I relate to that. Didn't like the finale but I love Alicia Florrick. Julianna Margulies you are wonderful look forward to your next adventure. Maybe I'll have to rewatch ER until then.

I sure am very sorry this series has ended. I was sure ready for Alecia to be happy with Jason and to grow in living in herself. CBS, I'm very disappointed this show is gone.

The finale left Alicia with her values in tatters. As this last season progressed, she proved she was willing to destroy her partner's marriage to win a case, sleep with her investigator while clearly still in love with Will (who she also slept with) while married to someone else and what, in the end, has she gained? In the end, she is a tragic figure. I think the producers of the show were wrong to make the ending so dark. Not even the tenderness of Will's ghost and Alicia's conversation softened the blow of the dark and unhappy ending.
