People have mentioned the likes of Shankly never winning the European Cup. But that was a different time when only champions of the domestic league entered that competition, so he never got as many chances to win it. However Bill Shankly did win a Uefa Cup, which Arsene also failed to do. Many fans have forgot we lost that final on penalties in 2000 to Galatasary, embarrassing considering the team we had out.
We should also look at the facts Wenger may have took us unbeaten, but his record in Europe is embarrassing. He lost the Cup Winners Cup final with Monaco and he lost the other two finals with us. In terms of Uefa history he is the only manager to have lost all 3 competition finals.
He will be rembered as a pioneer for English football and be one of the greats. But in terms of World football no he won't be. Especially with what other great managers achieved and that's why I wanted the board to sack him after the Bradford game and go and get Ancelotti, Guadiola or Simeone.
