I feel a season 4 is very probable. Venessa needed to die. Her story was over. A strong female lead is needed and I feel the new cast member is that person. Cat was fantastic! So many directions the characters can be taken. Hopeful Showtime announces renewal within the next few days.

I am shocked and so disappointed that this final, very SHORT, season became , apparently, the SERIES finale rather than the Season 3 finale. I have never enjoyed a TV series as much as this one. The characters, the acting, the storylines, everything about it is remarkable. I don't know Eva Green's body of work, but her portrayal of Vanessa Ives, I believe, was nothing short of genius.
While I enjoy each and every character on Penny Dreadful, none was as outstanding as Vanessa. She has been the constant thread throughout the series that has kept me on the edge of my seat episode after episode. To end the series like this, without warning, is disgraceful.

I am so beyond upset and sad that we were told this was a season finale when it seems as it is the series finale. Why would showtime do this to us fans of this amazing show? Why kill off the main and beloved character Miss Ives. I'm just not happy to see that this could be the absolute end?! It just can't be! Somehow this has to be a cliffhanger or a bloody awful trick. Although well acted and episode, this was not what any of us expected.
I am obsessed I need a season 4 please !
