Vote for Tanea Cousins.....She is not only a great athlete but a great young lady too. Her sports resume is the best. D1 state champ in the triple jump, first team all district, all region, and all Ohio in outdoor track and field just to name a few. Tanea Cousins is a great athlete that performs well in any sport she competes in, she has earned mvp, first team, all district, all region, and all Ohio in outdoor track and field, She also defended her state title in the triple jump at the OATCCC Indoor State Championships, now she's moving on to compete at the D1 collegiate level in track and field at the University of Akron. Their are several state recognized athletes on this survey.
Any coach would be blessed with any of these athletes on their team. Most surveys like this are popularity contests with the voting. Each of these girls are dedicated in their sport (s). Having watched each of them play/compete, I can honestly say it's a difficult choice.
Tanea Cousins is a D1 STATE champ in the triple jump, so I feel that accomplishment itself is enough to qualify her for the award. And she's a great person.

Wow, disappointed my sister Autumn isn't on this ballot. This spring she was an SVC champ, District champ, Regional runner up, and an all Ohioan taking 6th place at the state track meet in the discus throw. Not to mention she qualified in not one, but two events in outdoor. In indoor she qualified for the state meet in the weight throw. She's a dedicated athlete with a very bright future ahead of her.

mikayla newland is one of those players that leaves everything they have on the field. she gives 150% every time she steps foot of the diamond. her passion for the game radiates and gets her teammates hyped for the game. she embodies the characteristics that an athlete of the year should have. and that is why mikayla newland should be named athlete of the year.
