This is America and if the Mexicans don't like the flag being flown then they can leave the US

The flag should have been banned as a statement to those Caucasian racist scum who made those taunts.

Travelers Rest, the school that was "banning the flag" was participating in a sport - with another team from an "Hispanic" community. In other words, with a United States of America, AMERICAN community with largely Hispanic background or "roots."
First, it is time for those in the Hispanic community to realize it has been transplanted and their roots are now AMERICAN. THEY should bring the American FLAGS to wave and be proud to be Americans.
Secondly, the parents, grandparents, teachers, counselors and principal of Travelers Rest should teach their students proper behavior, game etiquette and general good sportsmanship. Anyone not exhibiting this type of behavior should be banned from future games. Let's get real, are the leaders of these schools and the parents and caretakers of these students MICE OR MEN??
Time for all concerned to put away the nonsense and embrace one another as fellow Americans.

That was supposed to be shouting *"Fire"* in a crowded theater.

My message is for the principal, "Delta is ready when you are" i will pay your ticket to ANY country you wish provided you never return to the Land of the Free!

Free speech does not extend to shouting "Firr" in a crowded theater. Though waving the flag would generally be free speech, the principal is responsible for preventing behavior that might incite a brawl at the football game. The students lost the right to bring in flags when they used them to taunt the other team, for safety reasons, not just for political correctness. Also, part of the school's job is to teach proper behavior, when parents have failed to do it so. Whatever you think of the immigration situation, students need to learn that racially based taunting is rude and will not help them get along in life.

Agree with Johan. Students should be warned before the game that inappropriate use of the flag accompanied by name calling will result in expulsion from that and future games. Parents and alumni should support this policy if they want to raise decent citizens.

The Supreme Court rules quite some time ago it was equally acceptable to wave or burn the American flag.
The first amendment guarantees the right of free speech, no matter how hateful or inane.
What concerns me about this is the encouragement & accolades heaped upon these bigots, racists, & misogynists by other self-identified so-called Christian populace across the Southeastern U.S.
I've read the New Testament, have y'all? This is how Jesus would act? Really!?

Waving the flag should be allowed. But the principal should crack down on hate speech, as in "go home" towards the Hispanic.
