Will Bud Selig be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame next July, the first time his name appears on a ballot?

    He did a lot of great stuff as the commissioner. He started the wild card, took the Brewers national, never spent a dime on a contract extension, and turned his back while players used steroids and then turned his back again when the politicians crucified them. If bud gets into the hall than Clemons and bonds, Bud's steroidic Frankensteins, should go in with him.

    i think it is a lock that Bud will go in on first ballot. There is no question of the financial success MLB enjoyed under his watch as Commissioner. He also started revenue sharing , although not as good as the NFL system, it is a start. He added another round of playoffs, which made many more games exciting and relevant in September He also expanded MLB reaches in the world, clearly in South and Latin America and Asia. The major blemish of Bud's tenure is that he he turned a blind eye on the use of illegal performance enhancing drugs in the late 1990's and early 2000's. Later to his credit, he did crack down on it. First ballot for sure.
