Whom do you blame most for the Packers’ offensive struggles?

Give me one receiver that you want to keep on the current roster? AR is not playing well but between Mike M's predictable offense and team speed like that of a sloth there isn't a team that has any respect for packer tight ends or receivers.

Upon further review, there are a finite number of explanations for Rodgers poor play:

    1. Family issues
    2. Some other powerful emotional upset
    3. Clandestine conflict with McCarthy that has finally reached the boiling point
    4. Clandestine problem with substance misuse/abuse
    5. Sudden loss of skills.

The good money rules out 4 and 5 and ranks the remaining options 3, 1 and 2.

Bottom line: either McCarthy or Rodgers has to go.

Push the issue to the breaking point: if Rodgers plays poorly in the first half Thursday, bench him and bring in his highly capable backup who has at least as much going for him as any first year QB. That will bring it to a head...and it needs to be brought to a head before the season is ruined.

The problems with the Packers' Offense can be improved! However, the combination of Mike McCarthy's poor play calling and Aaron Rodgers poor execution of plays called must be remedied in the near future.
Otherwise, the Packers Fans are in for a long season and way too may execuses!!!

MM needs to go. From his typical short yardage run into the line fail play to throwing 40 yards downfield for a 5 yard first down play, he looks confused and tired. Let's not forget the sorry (Capers) defense and the never ending injuries (conditioning) it's time to save Rodgers and get him into the game again. There is no way this team will go deep without an overhaul!

Edger Bennett should go back to coaching wide receivers. He is a total Peter Principle guy.

  • jeff flaschberger - 8 years ago

I agree on Rogers and McCarthy both at fault. But what about Edgar Bennett, he was named offensive coordinator at the start of last season, about the time things started to unravel, and he's never assigned any blame, I'm not even sure what function he has in the offense

Dump Muffian Man McCarthy and Clay Playdough !

  • The ghost of Michael Carter Williams - 8 years ago

What suprised me is that lacy was averaging like 7.7 ypc into the second quarter and they don't just keep pounding the ball with him.
What the heck does edger Bennett and Tom Clements do for this team ?

Jordy Nelson sinks too. That guy really is washed up. He makes devante Adams look like jerry rice. Leroy butler predicted this on his radio show. He said the packers needed another speed guy on offense but they didn't add one. Trevor Davis is more of a project player. Jeff Janis is the most physically talented of anyone they have but Rodgers can't hit the broad side of a barn any longer. What difference does it make who is playing wide receiver?
Favre used to light it up to an army of half assed bill Schroeders and Robert furgesons. Not that the current guys are any better. Isn't Richard Rodgers just bubba franks 10 years younger?

Other teams have definitely found out how to stop a once vaunted offense. If any disguises to fool the other defense have been "installed" I think it's more of a disguise to the fans....not the other pro teams that game plan for the Packers. I am also of the opinion that the Badgers' defense could stop this offense!!!
Players have to win the individual battles against the other teams' players and that is the starting point.

They should have signed a Brandon Marshall type wide out. They have the worst receiving corps in the NFL. And Aaron Rodgers can't throw the ball accurately any longer.
When the was the last time he did his discount double check thing? He looks like a guy who is not happy playing the game. He used to be one cocky sob.
It must be Olivia Munn's fault.

  • Todd Karutz - 8 years ago

Whos to blame?? Its simple, Defenses have figured out Rogers strengths and play him accordingly. They need a different scheme/game plan and that is on the coaches plus our WR's are overrated and clearly are not getting open.Defenses rush 3 and keep Aaron in the pocket....receivers cant get open and Aaron is not accurate unless hes moving outside the pocket

  • Todd Karutz - 8 years ago

Over the last 3 years every time the Packers lose a game or two, fans want to fire Mcarthy, fire Thompson, bench Rogers! Rogers does not look good right now BUT I still say fans are overreacting. They have the team and the talent to make the playoffs. I say they still finish 10-6 and make the playoffs. R E L A X. However if they lose to the Da Bears at home this week......PUSH THE PANIC BUTTON!!!!

  • Bob - 8 years ago

MM is not the sharpest tool in the shed, and stubborn a good pee wee football coach can out plan him totally clueless, has ruined an all pro QB needs to be fired NOW

  • Jarin J Ryland - 8 years ago

    Olivia Munn is to blame.

  • Bill Meisel - 8 years ago

McCarthy is totally unimaginative when it comes to calling plays and building a game plan . . . also, whatever happened to the screen pass? . . . .McCarthy hasn't called it for months . . .

  • Timmy - 8 years ago

I think it's all 3 of them. The WRs are not good enough to separate from the defenders or don't run their full route, McCarthy's game plan is from 2011 and he's too stubborn to change it, Rodgers doesn't seem to have his usual winning desire, and Rodgers and McCarthy egos can't co-exist anymore. This is the 3rd season of their tensions, 1 of them needs to go.

  • jeff rydeen - 8 years ago

its macarthys and rodgers fault.rodgers has been playing scared, you can see it with his happy feet.his receivers dont come open until late in the route because the league has figured out mm system.the receivers receivers run down and make a cut and then stop.other teams bunch their receivers, run crossing rts and legal pick plays.he runs no screens or quick hitters.all three need to go unless they change ,including ted thompson who signed the worst punter in the league to save 5 dollars, you would thing he was paying the salary out of his own pocket.

  • Paul - 8 years ago

It's mostly on Rodgers. You could see it in his face after every very poor throw. Yet there were many throws that were spot on and receivers dropped them.

  • Iveroni - 8 years ago

Is it, the offense, fixable? Sure, but now there's a tried and true manuscript on how to stop Mike McCarthy's offense and I don't see Rodgers and Co. finding resolvable answers any time soon. They might lean on Eddie Lacy if he were healthy, but his ankle issues will slow that thought process, too. All told, be content in seeing 30- to 40-yard drives capped with a Mason Crosby field goal. He is, after all, the Packers' best, most consistent weapon.

  • Bucks fan - 8 years ago

Rodgers stinks now. He has lost his confidence or something. They have to consider putting in Huntley if he can't get any accuracy on his throws. Every time he gets tackled. He fumbles. Wow. It's unreal how a player that great could fall off so quickly. It seems more mental than physical.

  • Craig Kasten - 8 years ago

Nelson and Cobb would each be the third receiver on a good team. $20 million misallocated. TT is accountable.

  • Michael jastrow - 8 years ago

Rodgers looks like he has no clue. What to do. Looks very gun shy
