The Halloween special seemed kinda off to me, save for the beginning and the end. I think the ending did give a big hint as to whom the killer will be in Season 3: Emma's dad. What if he actually is Brandon James? Her mom has lied to her so much and kept so many secrets, maybe this will be the biggest one. Maybe they used the whole Brandon James is the elephant man as a cover? Maybe it wasn't Brandon James who got shot on the dock? Maybe the real Brandon James (Emma's dad?) is back to enact some revenge on the town that turned him into a monster? I think back to the revelation scene in Scream 3 when Sidney Prescott comes to discover the truth about her mom's past and how she finds out she has a half brother Roman (this was really reminiscent of Season 1 with Piper). Randy reminds us in Scream 3 that true trilogies are all about going back to the beginning and discovering something that we thought was true but wasn't. Maybe this will be the big revelation in Scream Season 3, although I'm having difficulties trying to piece this scenario in with Season 1. Maybe the real Brandon James staged his death to give Piper more motivation for wanting to harm Emma and her mom? Maybe Emma's real dad (Brandon James?) is finally gonna have the last laugh and has waited this long to finally execute his justice on Emma's mom for keeping him away from Emma all these years in Lakewood, the city that made him a monster. Maybe the real monsters are the ones still in Lakewood. For whatever reason, Emma's mom wanted him to stay away from her. I think Emma's mom has a lot more secrets that are soon gonna come spilling out (hopefully not along with her guts). I hope Season 3 won't be the end because I've grown to really like this show, having come of age in the 90s with the real Scream movie franchise. Can't wait to see what Season 3 holds!

As for the Halloween special, the legend about Anna Hobbs is similar to the legend about Brandon James: they were both not monsters but just misunderstood. Society judged them both when it should have empathized with their situations, which I think is the moral of the story that you really don't know what someone is really going through until you walk a day in their shoes.

My daughter and I love the series but the Halloween special never asked any questions from season 2 final episode.. The opening scene was good cuz I wasn't expecting hin to get his throat slashed and the ending was good just to see Brandon James was back but the rest had nothing to do with anything from the series and was pointless.. Really upset waiting this long for this show to air and it turns out to be like this... Where was the Brandon James mask.. Lol.. They pretty much made a whole new movie ..you knoe it's coming to an end with a 6 episode 3rd season.. I wished they would continue it out but everything cones to an end
